Circular economy, upcycling, and an orientation towards organic production define contemporary luxury and Benibeca's philosophy
Rethinking fashion cycles and production methods is a natural part of the brand's evolution. As every purchase has an impact on people and the planet, we have chosen to use sustainable raw materials and processes that make a cleaner future possible.
One of the ways Benibeca dignifies the resources we need to produce is to create quality pieces that transcend classic seasons and trends. We create annual concepts with garments that strive to become wardrobe icons: luxury fashion committed to sustainability.
We are actively working to ensure that our actions have a positive impact on the environment.
Our aim is to develop collections of the highest quality while limiting their footprint through sustainable, honest, cooperative, and transparent actions.
By using recycled polyester we avoid the extraction of virgin oil and limit CO2 emissions
Since polyester is a non-biodegradable fiber, we have decided to give plastic a new life and prevent it from ending up in the ocean or landfills. Our swimsuits are made from 100% recycled polyester from bottles, used clothing, or fishing nets, certified with the Global Recycled Standard. We make fabrics that have the same durability and strength as virgin polyester but without the high environmental cost. From this variety, we have created the peach skin finish: a light, quick-drying, and high-quality fabric. By using RPET we limit the environmental impact as we are avoiding the extraction of virgin oil for production. It is part of our commitment to cut CO2 emissions and break the chain of dependence on fossil fuels.
All of our garments made from Pima cotton, considered the best cotton in the world, are dyed to a low environmental impact standard. What makes a dye safe for the environment? They must meet four quality standards such as being free of carcinogens and heavy metals. It must also have a high absorption rate so that when the fiber has acquired the desired shade, the liquid remains transparent. The last one is that they must contain little salt, as it is corrosive and can cause the fabric to lose its quality.

Our T-shirts are made with organic Pima cotton from Peru, the most exclusive, clean, and durable varieties on the market
To reduce the footprint of our products on the planet, we have decided to use organic Peruvian Pima cotton in our T-shirts, grown by Naturtex, a pioneer company in obtaining international organic certification for this variety. The certification not only guarantees that no toxic chemicals such as pesticides or insecticides are used during cultivation but also fair trade for those who produce it.
Organic Pima cotton follows a system based on crop rotation that dispenses with artificial fertilizers. In this way, the soil and its ecosystems are preserved, as well as the populations linked to these territories. In addition, it needs less water than conventional cotton, as the soil has a greater absorption capacity and does not use intensive irrigation methods, helping reduce CO2 emissions.
Peru has banned the use of GMO seeds to limit the negative environmental impact of cotton, a renewable and biodegradable fiber. Beyond its softness, Pima cotton fibers are characterized by their strength and ability to maintain color throughout the lifespan of the piece.
The relationships with our workforce are based on respect and dignity.
Just as important as protecting the natural environment is maintaining desirable conditions with those who make our products. At Benibeca, people always come first. All our suppliers follow the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. It is essential to us that workers in our supply chain are treated with respect and dignity. Fair wages, a healthy environment, education, and equal opportunities are part of Benibeca's purpose. In addition, we are actively working to improve the quality of life of our artisan partners so that their ancestral knowledge can be preserved in the future. We base our exchanges on fair trade with a commitment to offering a new life to craftsmanship in the communities we work with. Each garment is created consciously, we have integrated different artisanal textile techniques into our production. Our purpose is to recover the wisdom of handcrafted pieces.
We believe remote work and flexibility is a way to improve performance and creativity
Because we believe in sustainability in its broadest sense, Benibeca has been committed to work-life balance and remote work since the beginning. Without offices, all the brand's employees can work from a penthouse in Los Angeles or a beach hut in Kenya. This model of teamwork encourages creativity and work-life balance and eliminates the "prison" effect of the eight-hour office day. We want to give our teams, employees, and suppliers the space they need with freedom of movement and thought.
