Maybe This Is What Freedom Feels Like
I almost didn't write today.
Not because I have nothing to say.
Quite the opposite.
Life is moving so fast that I feel like I'm living several stories at once. Projects waiting to be finished. New ideas taking shape. Proposals moving forward. Dreams slowly becoming reality.
And yet...
For the first time in four years, I truly enjoyed July in Ibiza.
Just writing that sentence makes me smile.
I've worked, of course.
But nothing compared to what I usually do.
And the reason is simple.
I finally allowed myself to trust.
I have the privilege of being surrounded by an extraordinary team. People who genuinely want to see me happy. They encourage me to disconnect, to go out, to enjoy life.
But more importantly, they don't tell me to trust them.
They show me.
Every single day.
They remind me that everything is under control, that I don't have to carry every responsibility on my shoulders anymore.
And trust...
Trust feels a lot like freedom.
So this summer, I danced.
I laughed.
I ate far too much.
I spent beautiful afternoons with people I love and met wonderful new souls.
I created unexpected connections.
I swam naked in my favourite hidden cove, where I always feel this island holding me in ways I can't explain.
I discovered clubs I'd never been to before.
Spent long days on boats.
Shared meals, sunsets and endless conversations.
And somewhere in between all of that...
I realised something.
I'm happy.
Not because everything is perfect.
But because I finally know how to enjoy what already exists.
Every morning, I wake up grateful for this life.
I can be incredibly social.
I love dancing.
Talking.
Listening.
Connecting.
Giving affection freely.
I genuinely value every human being I meet.
But I also need silence.
I need my own space.
Solitude is where I recharge.
As much energy as I have, too much time surrounded by people eventually empties me.
And then...
I always find my way back to the sea.
That crystal-clear water.
The salt.
The silence.
Somehow, the Mediterranean always knows how to put me back together.
A few days ago, I was at a party at Sabina.
A beautiful place.
There I met a Benibeca customer wearing one of our linen T-shirts with enormous pride.
He told me how much he loved the brand.
That he reads every newsletter.
Every blog post.
Then he said something that stayed with me.
He told me I didn't sound like a CEO.
That I sounded...
too feminine.
Too romantic.
That my writing didn't really connect with men.
He admitted he still reads everything because he admires Benibeca.
I smiled.
Because maybe we've been taught that leadership and softness can't exist in the same person.
That being emotional somehow makes you less ambitious.
The truth couldn't be further from reality.
I love being an entrepreneur.
I love leading.
Making difficult decisions.
Analysing risks.
Building teams.
Creating business relationships.
I genuinely enjoy numbers.
Margins.
Strategy.
Sales.
Growth.
I'm strong.
Really strong.
Nothing has ever managed to knock me down for long.
And believe me...
Building an international brand as a woman is anything but easy.
I've always been a dreamer.
The slightly unusual one.
The girl who didn't quite fit.
The one whose mind was always somewhere else.
Creating.
Imagining.
Building worlds that didn't yet exist.
In many ways...
I still am.
Yes, there's a grounded version of me.
The businesswoman.
The leader.
The one who carries responsibility for an ever-growing team.
The one who signs contracts, negotiates deals and makes difficult decisions.
But there is another part of me too.
The woman who stops for a beautiful sunset.
Who cries over music.
Who believes energy matters.
Who falls in love with places.
Who swims naked under the moon.
Who finds inspiration in people, silence and nature.
And I've realised something.
I don't separate the woman from the entrepreneur.
They're the same person.
One dreams.
The other builds.
Benibeca exists because both are alive.
I'm excited.
About the retreat I'm preparing for next May.
About the possibility of starting our journey in Miami.
About seeing Dubai recover and continue growing there.
About expanding our factory in Vietnam.
About creating new marketing projects.
About building something much bigger than myself.
But most of all...
I'm excited about enjoying the journey.
Because maybe that's the lesson this summer has quietly been teaching me.
Not everything has to be carried.
Not everything has to be controlled.
Sometimes...
you simply have to trust.
And let life surprise you.
