SUSTAINABLE LUXURY

Circular economy, upcycling, and organic production orientation define contemporary luxury and Benibeca's philosophy

Rethinking fashion cycles and production methods is a natural part of brand evolution. As every purchase impacts people and the planet, we have chosen to use sustainable raw materials and processes that make a cleaner future possible.

One of the ways Benibeca dignifies the resources we need to produce is to create quality pieces that transcend classic seasons and trends. We make annual concepts with garments that strive to become wardrobe icons: luxury fashion committed to sustainability.

WE CARE. We have a social and environmental commitment.

We are actively working to ensure that our actions positively impact the environment. We aim to develop high-quality collections while limiting their footprint through sustainable, honest, cooperative, and transparent actions.

100% RPET SWIMWEAR

We avoid virgin oil extraction and limit CO2 emissions by using recycled polyester.

Since polyester is a non-biodegradable fiber, we have decided to give plastic another chance at life and prevent it from ending up in the ocean or landfills. Our swimsuits are made from 100% recycled polyester from bottles, used clothing, or fishing nets, certified by the Global Recycled Standard.

We make fabrics with the same durability and strength as virgin polyester but without the high environmental cost. We’ve created the peach skin finish from this variety: a light, quick-drying, and high-quality fabric. By using RPET, we limit environmental impact by avoiding virgin oil. Our commitment is to cut CO2 emissions and break fossil fuel dependence.

Our T-shirts are made with certified organic cotton, the most exclusive, clean, and durable varieties on the market.

These are dyed to a low environmental impact standard. What makes a dye safe for the environment? They must meet four quality standards: being free of carcinogens and heavy metals. It must also have a high absorption rate so the liquid remains transparent when the fiber acquires the desired shade. Lastly, they must contain little salt, which is corrosive and can affect fabric quality.

People come first at Benibeca.

The relationships with our workforce are based on respect and dignity.

Maintaining desirable conditions with those who make our products is just as important as protecting the natural environment. At Benibeca, people always come first. All our suppliers follow the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. It is essential to us that workers in our supply chain are treated with respect and dignity. Fair wages, a healthy environment, education, and equal opportunities are part of Benibeca's purpose. In addition, we are actively working to improve the quality of life of our artisan partners so that their ancestral knowledge can be preserved in the future. We base our exchanges on fair trade with a commitment to offering a new life to craftsmanship in the communities we work with. Each garment is created consciously; we have integrated different artisanal textile techniques into our production. Our purpose is to recover the wisdom of handcrafted pieces.

LIFE-WORK BALANCE

Remote work and flexibility are ways to improve performance and creativity.

Because we believe in sustainability broadly, Benibeca has been committed to work-life balance and remote work since the beginning. Without offices, brand employees can work from a penthouse in Los Angeles or a beach hut in Kenya.

This teamwork model encourages creativity and work-life balance and eliminates the "prison" effect of the eight-hour office day. We want to give our teams, employees, and suppliers the space they need with freedom of movement and thought.
